Just Ducky (Lake Balboa)

blgduckfro2.jpg
Today was a sunny and cool autumn day so we packed up a lunch and went to Lake Balboa with the kid. It was extremely windy so we wound up eating our picnic lunch in the car while Oliver napped in the warm sunshine. After he woke up we walked around the lake and fed the ducks. As you can see from the pictures Oliver is getting some use out of the new hat Grandma bought him.

This was Oliver’s first experience up close with the ducks. He loved them. Now when we sing Old McDonald Had a farm, he will be able to recall the sound of a duck. Next, I just need to find a cow in Los Angeles.

Funny you should mention cows in LA :) There is a commercial that runs here all the time about how fine the cows from CA are :) Buy CA cheese! :) When I see that commercial again I'll note the farm so you will know where to go :)

Lake Balboa is a new one on me. Never heard of it :) Kids always seem to love ducks though. They like to feed them :)

Missing you and sending lots of love!

Hi Oliver, You look so curious with all those birds. Don't worry - the one you ate for Thanksgiving isn't related to the ones swimming in the lake. Some people eat DUCK but you don't want to do that right now. All you want to do is chase them once you start walking and running where your Dad's have trouble keeping up with YOU! You look so handsome in you cute hat that Grandma Angela got for you with your name on it. Thanks for the pictures! Keep them coming! I love you! Miss you soooooo much! XOXOX Grammy
