8th Month

It’s happened again. Oliver is another month older. Today marks the beginning of The Kid’s eighth month. It’s amazing how fast the time is flying by. Oliver has no intention of slowing down anytime soon. Looking at the pictures that flash on this website I am amazed at how he has grown and I can’t imagine that that baby in the pictures is the same boy crawling around on the floor in front of me.

Oliver is still babbling his words. He likes Dadada, and Mmmm, and Baba, but I don’t think he completely understands what they mean. He also blows raspberries, shakes his head from side to side, and lays his head down to the side of his shoulder and gives a sly smile. He is also really good at giving kisses… although they are wetter than I would prefer. He is really growing up.

We have been spoiling him with attention so he does not really like to be alone in a room. He wants to be where the action is at all times, even if that means being permanently attached to his dads’ hip. Oliver is content in the mornings when he lays in his crib babbling and patiently waiting for us to get up. Once we are up however, all bets are off and he will yell at you if you leave the room or if he is stuck in a seated position and can’t stand up. When you lift him up to a standing position, you soon realize that he is not that concerned with whether or not “your” there provided he has a set of hands to hold while he practices walking around.

His favorite toys are still the remote, empty water bottles and his books—despite his dads’ attempts to get him interested in stacking games and other learning toys. He is eating just about everything you give him. In addition to the fresh fruits & veggies from the farmer’s market, he is eating chicken, attempted spaghetti & meatballs this week, and has had a little ham from some split pea soup. His little bottom teeth have grown even bigger and now when he goes for your fingers and or nose now you WILL end up with a couple of tooth imprints afterwards. Ouch.

Happy Birthday little man!

Happy 8th month birthday Oliver! Slow down will you please? You are growing way too fast! Keep your Dads busy - it's your job :) Love, Aunt Carol
