The Cold Saga

Oliver is still sick, but he's feeling better. He managed to sleep away most of the afternoon. When he was awake, he would happily play as he usually does, except for the occasional sneeze that would send snot shooting from his nostrils. It’s mostly clear and runny. He is getting better about having his nose wiped, and we have not had to use the suction bulb too often. It all seems to be coming out fine.

I, on the other hand, am pretty sick myself. Sneezing and snotting just like The Kid. Oliver laughs every time he catches me sneezing and he stares and a sly, almost sinister, smile spreads across his face when he catches me blowing my nose. I am not sure what’s up with that, but I think he is quite pleased with himself for having given me his cold. Now if we can just keep Supernanny and Papi from catching it.

Papi whipped up a batch of his home made chicken soup. We downed it for dinner last night and Oliver loved it. He even drank some broth from his sippy cup. Thanks PAPI!! Bedtime came relatively easily compared to last night and he slept from 9pm until 8:15am--straight through.

I, on the other hand, had to get up periodically to blow my runny nose. At one point in the wee hours of the morning I had to run outside and rip down some wind chimes that were driving me (and probably the neighbors) crazy.

Oliver woke up cheerful and the two of us sniffled through our morning bottle. This time when he looked up at me with those beautiful eyes and tried to grab my nose, eyes and lips with his cute little pudgy hands, I deftly dodged those germ carriers and shot him a look to say not this time bucko! Oliver just flashed that sly smile of his once again and kept on drinking.

I know what he is thinking when he sees you blowing your nose - where is that suction thing they tortured me with? :) LOL Happy Oliver is feeling better. Sounds like he is over the hump. You on the otherhand have a day or two to go. Lots of rest, plenty of liquids, and Chris's chicken soup should do the trick. Get better soon!

Oliver- what size clothes are you wearing? You look so big and grown up in your red/blue outfit. Don't grow any more till Grammy gets there. Where did Grammy's baby go? Are you still going to cuddle with me? For being sick you look pretty happy to me. Must be just bedtime is rough when you're sick. I know laying down doesn't help the mucous come out. It just lays there till you get up or sneeze. Hope you feel better! Colds usually last a week and you'll be fine! I love You!!!!!!! XOXOXOXOGrammy
