Surrogate Mothers' New Niche: Bearing Babies for Gay Couples

This morning's New York Times (Front Page) includes an article for which Beth was interviewed for but noticeably absent from. I knew she should have made up a horror story so that she would be certain to grab headlines.

What fun is there writing about a great group of people who get along and have formed a long-lasting bond? Who would want to read something so bland? She should have said that the experience made her repent or something along the lines of "those boys were mean". Someone in her church did want her to be excommunicated for just helping a couple with surrogacy. Can you imagine if she told that person she was helping a gay couple?

Maybe it was our fault Beth didn't get in the article. When she asked us if she could speak to a reporter we agreed provided we were not mentioned by name. Ironic that we didn’t want to be mentioned by name in the NYT but here I am blogging our life away over the net.

The kid was really good today. He soaked his Papi two times before I even got out of bed. When I did get out of bed, there they were laying on the couch in the sun room. Oli wrapped in his Papi’s arms, and Grammy starring at the two of them.

I tried to get my few moments with him before rushing off to work, but Oliver just looked at me with a vague recognition for the man who used to stay home with him 24-7. I swear he stares at me dismissively lately as if to say: “Why bother, I know you’re leaving me anyway.”
