Beth is staying with us again this weekend. Another convention brought her to town. Beth brought with her another batch of Breast Milk for the kid too. We can’t believe that she is still pumping for us. The woman keeps on giving!
Poor Oliver was crankier than usual this visit. He’s the gassiest baby alive. Distended stomach, farting, burping, hiccups, fussiness, you name it. I think Beth thought it was her. Whenever she held him he seemed to stiffen up and scream. I think he just needed someone familiar to comfort him while he was so gassy, but Chris thought it was the boobs. True, Oliver doesn't get daily exposure to that part of the female anatomy, and Beth’s boobs are bigger now than any other girl we know. It’s amazing that these skinny little legs can even hold them up. Oliver just isn’t gonna grow up to be a breast man. How could he be such an ingrate? Biting the hand that feeds him...
To his defense, Oliver’s been really gassy lately and we were thinking it might be the breast milk. When we asked Beth about her diet she said she eats a ton of garlic and broccoli. Two things that make breast milk gassy for babies… so we’ve read. Dr. Peter disagrees with the diet and gas correlation. He doesn’t think her diet really matters. He’s been right so far. But if he’s wrong about this, it might explain why Oliver was so angry at the thought of being held by Beth. Those two big breasts are like gigantic gassy WMD’s. Loaded with broccoli and garlic. Sure to make him uncomfortable for a day or two.
