Good afternoon, evening, morning, whatever it is…
Tomorrow Oliver is two weeks old and we still haven’t dropped him once. Oliver lost his umbilical cord in Chris’ lap last Saturday. The little cap on his willy also fell off last week so we are looking forward to his first bath tonight. He is eating normally (3.5 ounces every 3-4 hours), fussing normally, sleeping normally and soiling diapers regularly. He is happier in the mornings and gets fussier in the early evenings. Kind of like me.
Oliver takes to falling asleep in our arms, laps and over our shoulders more than his crib. We can blame Chris for this habit. I can’t say that I really should blame either of them though because I would probably choose likewise. It’s really amazing to watch the two of them in each other’s arms.
Today we officially took the stroller out for a test spin. We didn’t get far before it started misting and we had to turn around. However, what sunlight we did see was nice and it was just long enough for Oliver to fall asleep. Actually he was asleep by the time I opened the garage door.
We watched our first ever Academy Awards presentation as a family on Sunday. Truthfully, we expected more from Chris Rock…. Oliver’s favorite part was probably the buzzing of the various helicopters, planes, and The Goodyear Blimp over the house. For some reason he also got really excited when Julia Roberts presented. He’s a breast milk baby, what can I say… funny that he didn’t have the same response to Gwyneth, hmm.
